"When Calls the Heart: Heart of the Family" DVD Review

*Disclosure:  The following DVD was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.  I was not compensated in any other way.  All opinions are my own.
About When Calls the Heart: Heart of the Family:
From celebrated author Janette Oke (The Love Comes Softly series) comes a rigorous and romantic adventure as epic as the wide frontier. Erin Krakow (Army Wives), Daniel Lissing (Eye Candy) and Lori Loughlin (Full House, 90210) star in When Calls The Heart, "a beautiful story with roots in relationships, self-empowerment, and the enduring power of love", (Common Sense Media).

Elizabeth returns to Hope Valley and immediately volunteers to look after a neighbor’s rural homestead… and his two children, an undertaking which proves to be a bigger chore than she’d imagined. But when Jack lends a hand, and they wind up chatting by the fire, all seems right in Hope Valley and the world. Meanwhile, in Hamilton, Bill Avery sets about busting a counterfeiting ring wide open, an endeavor which surprisingly leads him to Hope Valley, where he mysteriously declines Jack’s help. But Bill isn’t the only big-town visitor: Elizabeth is even more surprised to see her former suitor, Charles Kensington, standing right in the middle of her schoolhouse!

"Find a Way" DVD Review

*Disclosure:  The following DVD was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.  I was not compensated in any way.  All opinions are my own.

About Find a Way:
A powerful film about persevering through trials, grief, and doubt.

In Burlington, North Carolina, high school senior Harry Cohen was an inspirational young man, star athlete, friend to all, and a strong Christian. But one morning he didn’t wake up—leaving his family to question their faith and why God would allow such a thing to happen.

My Review:
Find a Way is a very inspiring movie.  It shows how one "Smiley" young man can make a huge impact for his community by having a great heart...a heart for God.  It's neat to see the impact he makes on so many in his short life...much of the differences he made were after he passed away.  A very powerful movie!

I don't like to be negative, but there were a few aspects of the film that I should bring up in this review.  It was quite noticeable that he acting was not professional.  Also, the sound seemed to be 'off' on several occasions.  Two people could be having a conversation and I could hear one loud and clear while the other sounded like they were in the distance.

While Find a Way had a couple negative elements, I don't feel like they took away from the story as a whole.  I'd definitely recommend watching it and being inspired by it! :-)

My Review:
I really enjoyed watching Catching Faith.  It had a great story line with a great message!  We don't have to be perfect because God loves us as who we are.  The movie seemed to focus mostly on the mom, Alexa, and I think moms probably need a reminder of that message the most.  It's too easy to get caught up with what other moms are doing, and what they think of us, but that doesn't matter.  Being who God created us to be is what really matters.

Catching Faith is available on amazon.com currently for $13.49.

"When Calls the Heart: Heart and Soul" DVD Review!

*Disclosure:  The following DVD was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.  I was not compensated in any other way.  All opinions are my own.

About When Calls the Heart: Heart and Soul:
From celebrated author Janette Oke (The Love Comes Softly series) comes a rigorous and romantic adventure as epic as the wide frontier. Erin Krakow (Army Wives), Daniel Lissing (Eye Candy) and Lori Laughlin (Full House, 90210) star in When Calls The Heart, "a beautiful story with roots in relationships, self-empowerment, and the enduring power of love", (Common Sense Media).

Further complicating their new romance, Jack and Elizabeth must part company so that Jack can return to Hope Valley and his duties as a Mountie. Elizabeth, however, remains in Hamilton, where she finds herself tending to her family and spending time with the handsome Charles Kensington. Meanwhile, back in Hope Valley, Rosemary has been offered a role in a play in San Francisco and makes preparations to leave with her two producers. When Jack learns that the "producers", have taken Rosemary in the opposite direction, for New York, he races after them to rescue her… a gamble that ends up being the talk of the town when they spend a night together.

My Review:
My family can't get enough of this show!!  The When Calls the Heart series is truly everything I like in a television entertainment.  In this episode, Heart and Soul, Jack and Elizabeth both encounter old flames in ways that make you wonder if their relationship will make it through. Between that and Abigail and Bill Avery's relationship, Clara's dilemma and the fake pastor, it's full of twists and yet it remains just as wholesome and entertaining as ever.  If you haven't started watching this series I feel like you're really missing out!

Buy it!
