About Audrey Bunny
From best-selling women’s author Angie Smith (I Will Carry You, Mended) comes this sweet children’s book about a stuffed animal named Audrey Bunny who fears her imperfections make her unworthy of a little girl’s love. She'll learn the truth soon enough, and young readers will learn that everyone is special and wonderfully made by God.

About the Author
Angie Smith is the wife of Todd Smith (lead singer of Dove Award winning group Selah), best-selling author of Mended, I Will Carry You, and What Women Fear, and one of the most popular speakers and blog writers in the country. She holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Vanderbilt University and lives with her husband and daughters in Nashville, TN

My Review:
"Audrey Bunny" is such a sweet book with an awesome message!  I couldn't help but think of the classic children's book, "Corduroy", as I read this.  There were several similarities between the two books...each book tells of a stuffed animal in a store hoping to find a home yet each has a flaw that they think is keeping them from being bought.  The stories each take a different direction, though, and I have to say that I love the direction "Audrey Bunny" takes.  It shares the message of God's love in a way that children can understand.  "Audrey Bunny" also ends with a "Parent Connection" that is a guide for parents to discuss how God created us and loves us just the way we are.

I have to mention the amazing illustrations too!  They really add something special to the book.  Many times I'll just read through books without paying much attention to the pictures, but I found myself stopping quite often as I was reading and admiring how sweet the illustrations were.

I highly recommend Audrey Bunny to everyone, young and old!  It has a message that young ones need to hear and one that the rest of us need to be reminded of. ;-)

Morgan and Blake enjoying looking through "Audrey Bunny" together.

"Rufus and Ryan Go to Church" Review & GIVEAWAY!! (10/16)

*Disclosure: I was provided a copy of the following book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not compensated in any other way.  All opinions are my own.

About the Book:
In Rufus and Ryan Go to Church!, four-year-old Ryan explains to his stuffed monkey, Rufus, what is happening as they attend church on Sunday morning. He lets Rufus know when it’s time to sing and to pray and to be quiet. Author Kathleen Bostrom brings a delightfully light touch to the text as she provides an introduction to an experience that most children are exposed to long before they understand why. And children everywhere will relate to the idea of explaining their surroundings to their favorite companions as they go about their daily activities.
This is just one of the first titles in a new series of inspirational books for preschoolers.

About the Rufus and Ryan:
Rufus and Ryan is a new series of books for preschoolers, featuring Ryan, an energetic little boy, and his stuffed monkey Rufus. Basic Christian and church concepts serve as the foundation of the series, with an additional focus on character traits and development. The text is presented in young Ryan’s voice as he teaches Rufus about the concepts he is learning himself. Each story is about 150 words, using age-appropriate vocabulary and themes.
About the Author:
Kathleen Long Bostrom is a published children’s author in both the Christian and trade markets. She has a Master’s in Christian Education and a Doctorate of Ministry in Preaching, and she has worked in children’s ministry for many years. Kathy and her husband, Greg, have three grown children and live in Illinois.
About the Illustrator:
Rebecca Thornburgh began illustrating children’s books full-time in 1996 and today has almost 100 books to her name. Rebecca’s vibrant watercolors have been showcased in previous Ideals titles, including the new edition of The Story of Christmas. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two daughters.

My Review:
Rufus and Ryan Go to Church is a sweet little board book!  Ryan's enthusiasm about going to church reminds me of my own kids' excitement.  They know when it's Sunday that it's 'church day', just as Ryan does, and my daughter especially can't wait to get dressed up, see her friends and learn more about God, Jesus and the Bible.

It's cute to read how Ryan teaches Rufus about attending church.  I think little ones can relate to the excitement Ryan has of sharing something they enjoy with someone they care for.  I also think Rufus and Ryan Go to Church is a wonderful way to introduce young children to attending a church service as well.

Rufus and Ryan Go to Church is recommended for the following:
- Children ages 2 to 5 and their parents, grandparents
- These faith-based board books make great gifts during any season: Christmas, Easter, baby
- Toddler birthday
- Gift from grandparents
- Gift for your child's Sunday School teacher of children's minister
- Perfect for church nurseries, Sunday school classes, preschools, and church worship settings

Buy It!
Rufus and Ryan Go to Church can be purchased through Ideals Books for $7.99.
