I'm not usually one to eat a lot of cabbage, but I like it when I have it. So when Rich's grandma gave us a humungous cabbage, I had to find some way to cook it all up. My mom makes what is basically the same as this, but I made a couple changes. And since the cabbage was so big, I have made this 4 times, plus made fried cabbage on several occasions! It's all been delicious though and I haven't gotten tired of it yet... ;-)
Cabbage Roll Casserole:
1 lb. ground beef (raw)
1 can tomato soup
1 small can tomato sauce
2 cups pasta (I use egg noodles.)
1/4 cup rice
1/2 cup water
Mix ingredients in a 2-1/2 quart baking dish, then add enough chopped cabbage to fill. Add salt and pepper to taste, then bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
This is the last meal we had with the cabbage roll casserole. I cooked up our last zucchini and had leftover homemade french fries from our homegrown potatoes. It was a delicious meal! :-)

Girl you always make my mouth water! I wonder if the boys would eat this. But it sure does look yummy!
That actually looks SO much better than it sounds! We like cabbage but anything with the word "casserole" makes me cringe a bit... Don't know why, cause so many casseroles are so good, but it does.
I was just talking with my sister about cabbage rolls and it made me want some! Your dish looks amazing!
