Strength through the grieving

A am constantly amazed by the strength that Amanda has had. When I think of how I would feel if it were my family-I break down and cry. When I think of Amanda's pain-I break down and cry. When I hear of other fires, like one that came over Rich's pager the other night-I break down and cry. (The dispatcher came across saying that everyone made it out safely a few minutes later.) It isn't me who is suffering the loss, but I am crying and Amanda has been so strong.

After the funeral and burial of her family, Amanda had to do a walk through of the home that burned where she lost her family and she was able to stay strong. She has been able to make it through an hour long interview with a local news anchor. Just yesterday, on her way from her new apartment to the old house that had burned, she came up on a house that had just caught fire and held it together long enough to call 911. (The father was able to get his 8 month old and 3 year old out safely.) She admits that she fell apart after the call and had to, yet again, try to get rid of that smell (from the fire).

Many times I think of how strong Amanda must be to be able to do all these things. I then realize that much of her strength is coming from the love and support she has been receiving and ultimately that strength is coming from God!

I know as time passes, the passing of the Buckland family is going to slowly fade from our minds, but it is going to be on the forefront of Amanda's mind for a long long time. I ask that you continue your prayers for Amanda to find comfort and strength. She still has a long road of healing ahead and the prayers are helping SO SO much!

Thank you all again for everything you have done! :-)

Yes, the strength is from God for sure... I don't know how else one could get through it. Still praying!

Still in my thoughts and prayers. Oh sweetie, God had a plan for her stopping by at that moment. I hope it gives her strength that she helped them.

Much love!
