Wordless Wednesday: Lookin' Spiffy!

Morgan and Blake all dressed up for my sister's wedding.

*By the way, their outfits only cost me about $25 at JCPenney...total! Together, regular price, without coupons, would have been $90! AND I bought them big and made adjustments, so they can wear them again next year....I was excited about that, so I thought I'd share ;-)

Morgan's Princess Birthday Party

I don't usually do a lot of a theme for the kids' birthdays besides the cake. It's usually only family that comes and we don't make a huge deal out of it...just have a fun time. But this birthday was different because I ended up with some awesome deals/freebies/winnings that made it possible for Morgan to have a princess birthday. (More specifically a Rapunzel/Tangled birthday.)

My family working together to set up the cardboard castle for the kids to color.

The kids being creative with their coloring :-)

Then it was time to eat!

Morgan was most excited about this:

Blake got to swing without the blindfold because he's so little.

No luck breaking it, so the next go round is without the blindfolds.

Still no luck, so the grown-ups are giving it a try...

Now Rich's turn...

...who knocked it down and Morgan got to beat it apart ;-)

FINALLY they get to the candy!

Morgan then opened her presents, which contained a lot of Tangled things from Mom and Dad. (In the pictures: a wand from her princess card, a homemade Rapunzel hair clip holder and a Tangled puzzle.)

A mini book of Morgan at the Princess Ball this year, a Tangled book and the Tangled movie! :-)

More princess gifts from the grandparents. She also received a lot of clothes, another puzzle, book, balls and a special butterfly necklace that Blake picked out just his sister :-)

And finally, the cake!

Morgan's 5th Birthday

Morgan's 5th birthday was over three weeks ago and we made sure to have a lot of fun and make it a super special day by doing things Morgan enjoys...

Morgan wanted French Toast for breakfast...yum! :-)

Of course we had to read this special birthday book.

Morgan loves getting her nails painted!

Plus we had to do a project...she LOVES projects! :-)

I also had planned a trip to the library to pick out books, get a library card and have reading time. Turned out to be Story Time when we showed up, so they read about birds and did another project. Morgan and Blake both got library cards and are both signed up for the Summer Reading Program, where they get candy for each library book they read, a toy for every 4 books read and after 16 they get a new book!! PLUS they get an entry for a prize for each book they read. What an exciting trip to the library!!! :-)

The library happens to be by the Swinging Bridge in our town, so we took a little walk across the bridge. It was the first time the kids had been across it and they thought it was great!! (This picture happens to be from Memorial Day. We checked out the bridge while we were waiting to ride in the fire truck in the parade.)

We also went to the grocery store so the kids could grab a little something from the 50 cent toy vending machines...they both ended up with something with an elephant...just a neat coincidence I guess ;-)

Morgan had wanted pancakes for lunch but, since we were in town, we ended up at McDonald's instead. Another funny coincidence, the little girl next to us was also there for her 5th birthday lunch and the woman behind us was also there for her birthday!! Morgan must have a popular birthday :-)

I had won a coupon for a free box of Nestle Drumsticks, so we had those for an afternoon snack. YUM!

We spent some time in the afternoon playing some games. The kids LOVE to play games!

Then for dinner, Morgan asked for pizza and they seem to like my homemade pizza...

After dinner was present opening time. Morgan got a few small things, since she was getting her main presents on her birthday party day with the family. (A couple books, stickers and a shirt.)

She had to blow out candles for her birthday, so I made her a big chocolate chip cookie and we sang the birthday song, then she blew out her candles quicker than I could get a picture.

That pretty much sums up Morgan's 5th birthday! I'll make another post with all the fun we had at her party :-)

End of School Year Fun

Pajama/Sundae Party

Morgan's class had a little party one of the last few days of school and the teacher invited Blake to come too. He had a BLAST! He's going to think every day of preschool is as neat as that day was. ;-)

Snack time 1st thing....the program has to provide a snack and ice cream doesn't count.

Play time! Blake fit right in and played with all the kids just like he was one of them.

Playing Alphabet Bingo. (Morgan had to leave for a vision screening...)

They went to another room and watched a movie, then came back for the ice cream!

YUM!!

Finishing the day on the rug singing some fun songs. :-)

Bowling/Pizza Party!

Morgan's teachers also planned another party for the day after their last day of school at the bowling alley. (Morgan's teachers really are the best...couldn't have asked for better!!) The students' bowling and pizza was paid for, but the families had to pay for their own if they wanted anything....luckily another little girl didn't want to bowl for a while, so Blake got a chance to try it out and they had plenty of pizza for him too :-)

They really are best friends :-)

Morgan helping Blake get his ball down the lane.

She's looking pretty proud of that one! :-)
I'm kinda sad Morgan is done for this year and is moving on to kindergarden where she'll be in school ALL day. She seems excited though. It turns out that after a failed vision screening and a trip to the eye doctor that she needs glasses, so she'll be starting the school year with those too. Blake gets to experience all the preschool fun (hopefully not the glasses part) in the fall and he can't wait! I think he's most excited about making a bunch of friends :-)
